The sun is out, the days are long, and we have the most incredible city in the world to explore by foot. We pounded the pavement to test out over 100km of urban trails, to share with you. Let this inspire you to discover more about Perth by foot.

1-10 km | Perth Bridges

Let the fun begin with this leisurely stroll of the Perth Bridges. Starting in South Perth near Coode Street Jetty, there is no need to worry about getting lost, as long as you keep the water to your left, and continue along the trails and over the bridges. Head across Heirisson Island, and enjoy Riverside Drive of Perth, through Elizabeth Quay and back to your start point in South Perth.

11-12km | Heirisson Island

A short and sweet trail, so many locals have still never been to Heirisson Island. It holds significant history and comes with some interesting stories of Perth’s early European settlement and the conflict with the local Noongar people. Take your time on this one to enjoy the history, as well as the local kangaroos.

13-23km | Kings Park

The worlds largest inner city park, Kings Park and Botanic Gardens will provide you with the perfect backdrop for a truly magical urban trail adventure. Choose anything from a 1km meander through the manicured gardens, to a 10km bush adventure on unsealed paths and over promenades.

24-29km | Bold Park

Enjoy the “sanctuary by the sea‘ and take in the magnificence of both coastal and city views in one spot. The loop trail in Bold Park will take you on a journey through historic limestone quarrying, to camel quarantining and so much more.

30-33km | Trigg Bushland

If you are after a rare sight, Trigg Bushland hosts something incredible to watch out for. Parabolic sand dunes, found nowhere else in the world, can be found just meters into the bushland. The best bit, is a west coast sunset post walk on Trigg Beach.

34-53km | Bush to Beach

This epic Bush to Beach trail makes up one section of the Whadjuk trail network through the western suburbs of Perth. With links to iconic, heritage and Noongar trails in the area, this unique experience fosters appreciation for the land and history. This is a one way walk, so be prepared with a lift, or public transport to return to the start.

54 – 72 km | Wardun Beelier Bidi

This Wardun Beelier Bidi trail connects the Indian Ocean with the Swan River, forming the southernmost section of the Whadjuk trail network of trails. A stunning combination of history and nature at its finest, with a visit to the Leighton Battery bunker as well as some beautiful coves and beaches.

73 – 94 km | Yange Kep Bidi

The Yange Kep Bidi, (Wetland Trail) is a great wetland wander from Freshwater Bay to Lake Monger. It emcompasses many of the lakes of the western suburbs and is another leg of the whadjuk trail network. This is also a one way walk, so be prepared with a lift, or public transport to return to the start.

95-100 km | Bidi Bo Djinoong

The Bidi Bo Djinoong (“Trail with views forever”) is also part of the whadjuk trail network, and offers magnificent ocean views over the Indian Ocean to Rottnest Island and wonderful city views from Bold Park. a short and sweet 6km one way trail to round our this epic 100km list.
