Immerse yourself in this 6km hike exploring the rich green rainforest of Kondalilla National Park. Discover luscious rainforest canopies, fern lined trails, stunning views and a hidden waterfall nestled at the base of the track.
Perfect for beginners, your adventure begins with a hike amongst the tall Eucalyptus trees and then transitions into the National Park where you’ll marvel at the lush verdant rainforest. We follow a section of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great walk with a picturesque winding trail 3kms down to Baxter Creek Falls, where you can dip your feet in the water, enjoy the sounds of the forest and for the adventurous amongst us, you can cross the suspension bridge for a truly memorable experience (not to mention some amazing photos) The return hike leads us back along the trail where you’ll experience the wonders of the forest and the rich wildlife found in Kondalilla National Park, including possums, wallabies, goannas, frogs and many species of birds.
Come rain or shine, this trail is ideal for your enjoyment all year round, with Queensland’s signature stamp of rainforest canopy approval. The Baxter Falls and Fern Forest Hike is located 90 minutes from Brisbane or 30 minutes from Sunshine Coast. It’s the perfect way to experience the beauty and wonder that Queensland has to offer.
