Tour Overview

Immerse yourself in this 6km hike exploring the rich green rainforest of Kondalilla National Park. Discover luscious rainforest canopies, fern lined trails, stunning views and a hidden waterfall nestled at the base of the track.

Perfect for beginners, your adventure begins with a hike amongst the tall Eucalyptus trees and then transitions into the National Park where you’ll marvel at the lush verdant rainforest. We follow a section of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great walk with a picturesque winding trail 3kms down to Baxter Creek Falls, where you can dip your feet in the water, enjoy the sounds of the forest and for the adventurous amongst us, you can cross the suspension bridge for a truly memorable experience (not to mention some amazing photos) The return hike leads us back along the trail where you’ll experience the wonders of the forest and the rich wildlife found in Kondalilla National Park, including possums, wallabies, goannas, frogs and many species of birds.

Come rain or shine, this trail is ideal for your enjoyment all year round, with Queensland’s signature stamp of rainforest canopy approval. The Baxter Falls and Fern Forest Hike is located 90 minutes from Brisbane or 30 minutes from Sunshine Coast.  It’s the perfect way to experience the beauty and wonder that Queensland has to offer.

AMENITIES
There are no toilets available on this tour, so we highly recommend stopping off in the local town before arriving for this hike.
CARPARK
Street parking is available on Flaxton Mill Road next to the signpost for The Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great Walk.
HIKE DIFFICULTY
This is a beginner-friendly trail. The way to Baxter Falls is down a gradual slope and you can expect some uneven surfaces along the way. This is an out and back trail, therefore the way back to the start winds gradually uphill. Whilst this is not a difficult track, some experience with hiking or basic fitness is recommend.

No-shows and cancellations received within 48 hours of hike departure will incur a 100% cancellation fee.

Cancellations within 2-7 days prior will incur a 50% cancellation fee. Cancellations received over 7 days in advance will receive a full refund or credit towards another hike experience. Please note that Rezdy fees are non refundable. Guests can transfer their booking to a friend with no penalty but must advise The Hike Collective so we can forward all booking information to the new attendee.

If The Hike Collective cancels an event due to weather or danger in any way, your ticket will automatically be moved to the new date, or you will be eligible to transfer amounts paid to another tour or receive a full refund.
