The famous Bibbulmun Track is one of the world’s great long distance walk trails, stretching 1000km from Kalamunda in the Perth Hills, to Albany on the south coast, winding through the heart of the scenic South West of Western Australia. The Track takes hikers through towering karri and tingle forests, down mist-shrouded valleys, over giant granite boulders and along breathtaking coastal heathlands. It passes through many of the most beautiful national parks of the south west forests and coastline. On this tour we head to Sullivan Rock, Mount Cooke, a 1 hour drive from Perth.
This is Part 3 of our Bibbulmun Track Series, Sullivan Rock to Mt Cooke, and the 22km hike is a powerful force to be reckoned with as a one day hike along the Bibbulmun Track. It is the highest peak in the Darling Ranges and highlights typical darling scarp bushland of ghost gums, jarrah and banksias. Explore the elusive hidden cave just past the summit of Mt Cooke, along with plenty of giant boulders, and large sloping granite outcrops.
We begin at the magnificent Sullivan Rock, which is a granite rock covered in beautiful, delicate moss and a great introduction of the natural beauty to come. Get ready to embark on an adventure worth every kilometre. This fun and challenging experience is part 3 of our Bibbulmun Track series, and will uncover not only the breathtaking views from the top of the climb, but the secrets of the elusive Mt Cooke cave, which is hard to find for the first time visitor. Pack your lunch to enjoy at the top, and get ready for a rewarding hiking experience.
