Ignite your adventurous spirit on a journey that captures the essence of the Fire element. Experience the warmth and energy of the land as you hike in the afternoon from the stunning Lucky Bay to the majestic Thistle Cove.

This experience is a 5 km return hike that takes you through some of Cape Le Grand National Park’s most stunning scenery. Feel the warmth of the sun and the fiery spirit of the land as you navigate this vibrant trail.

Starting at Lucky Bay, you’ll be immediately immersed in the fiery essence of this journey. The trail weaves through coastal heath, ablaze with colourful wildflowers, and over granite outcrops.

As you make your way towards Thistle Cove, the trail offers breathtaking views of the azure waters contrasted against the white sands. The energy of the Fire element is ever-present, fueling your journey with warmth and vitality.

Upon reaching Thistle Cove, take a moment to bask in the glory of the sun and the expansive beauty of the landscape before returning to Lucky Bay.

The “Grounded” Esperance Hiking Festival is in partnership with major supporters, Australia’s Golden Outback, and The State government through the Department of Local Government, Sport, and Cultural Industries.  Sport and recreation creates vibrant, inclusive and connected WA communities.

Public toilets are available throughout the National Park and at the start point of this tour.
HOW HARD IS IT?
This hike is suitable for those with moderate fitness and some experience on trails and is moderate to advanced. There is coastal walking, granite and the iconic Lucky Bay.
