Join Digby Growns, the Senior Plant Breeder at Kings Park and Botanic Garden, (and the man behind the blue kangaroo paw) for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour where science meets nature in a breathtaking display of innovation and conservation.

This unique experience invites you for a short and sweet 3km walk through Kings Park, highlighting key points of interest related to the plants developed at Kings Park, offering a deeper connection to what you are about to see in the glasshouse.

Adventure into the heart of the glasshouse, where Digby will unveil the intricate processes behind the breeding and development of Australian plants. From the pioneering release of the first blue-flowered Anigozanthos to the creation of new Grevillea hybrids, you’ll discover the dedication and expertise that goes into each new variety.

As you explore the Tissue Culture areas, Digby will share insights into the cutting-edge technologies and research that underpin the park’s success in plant breeding. Learn about the ongoing programs contributing to the conservation of Australia’s native flora, and gain a deeper appreciation for the meticulous work behind closed doors.
