Tucked into the hidden gem of one of Western Australia’s oldest settlement towns of Jarrahdale, Kitty’s Gorge is set in the Darling Ranges and surrounded by Jarrah forest.  This escape to simplicity will empower you as you hike along the 17km return trail, showcasing the forest’s iconic WA flora and fauna, allowing your senses to come alive as you see, hear, and smell nature at its finest. Located a pleasant one-hour drive from Perth, and with beautiful streams, gorges, and the famous Serpentine Falls ahead, this experience is jam-packed with exciting challenges, and rewarding views.

KITTY'S GORGE HIKE

We embark on a 17km return hike on Kitty's Gorge. Expect to see cascading waters, beautiful granite outcrops, abandoned cottages, and an abundance of wildlife and wildflowers on this amazing experience in Jarrahdale.
We leave from the Jarrahdale Cemetery, and head through the Jarrah Forrest until we arrive at Serpentine Falls. Enjoy a short morning tea break, before heading back on the trail towards Jarrahdale.

What To Bring

  • Hiking shoes or comfortable trainers
  • Water bottle (at least 2L)
  • Sun protection and hat
  • Hiking poles if required
  • Your own snacks to enjoy at our stop point
  • Cash or card for lunch or a drink at the Jarrahdale Tavern post hike
  • No dogs allowed

AMENITIES
As you are driving into town, and prior to the right hand turn towards the cemetery, public toilets can be found. Alternatively, there are toilets available at the half way point (8km in).
ENTRY FEES TO NATIONAL PARK
There are no entry fees payable for this hike.
CARPARK
Jarrahdale is a beautiful drive about 1 hour south of Perth. Choose to head down Kwinana Freeway, or along South Western Highway, before turning onto Jarrahdale Road. We are hiking from Aitkins Street in Jarrahdale ( Just opposite the Jarrahdale cemetery)
HIKE GRADING
This hike is considered a Grade four. It is still suitable for most ages, however it is recommended for people with bushwalking or hiking experience and high levels of fitness. Trails may have short steep hills, rough surfaces, and sections of uneven ground.
CANCELLATION POLICY
No-shows and cancellations received within 48 hours of hike departure will incur a 100% cancellation fee.

Cancellations within 2-7 days prior will incur a 50% cancellation fee. Cancellations received over 7 days in advance will receive a full refund or credit towards another hike experience. Please note that Rezdy fees are non refundable. Guests can transfer their booking to a friend with no penalty but must advise The Hike Collective so we can forward all booking information to the new attendee.

If The Hike Collective cancels an event due to weather or danger in any way, your ticket will automatically be moved to the new date, or you will be eligible to transfer amounts paid to another tour or receive a full refund.
COVID-19 POLICY
We are aware of the current situation with regards to COVID-19 and are working with our team and guests to ensure the safety and health of all of those we come into contact with. Our tours are always limited to 15 guests and up to 2 hike leaders. We request that all hikers and hike leaders maintain the 2m social distancing required by law at this time. If you are unwell at the time of the tour commencing, we request that you remain at home and get in touch with us regarding transferring your ticket to another date. We appreciate your understanding at this time and thank you for supporting local.
