Our Reforestation Impact

We have taken a pioneering stride towards sustainable outdoor adventures with our impact-focused initiatives. For every ticket sold to our hiking tours, our guests generously donate $1 to Carbon Positive Australia, an organization dedicated to combating climate change through reforestation and carbon offset projects.

Carbon Positive Australia specializes in planting native trees and restoring vital ecosystems, effectively neutralizing carbon emissions and contributing to a greener, healthier planet. This partnership not only allows hikers to revel in the beauty of nature, but also empowers them to be active participants in its preservation. In addition to the one-dollar contribution, The Hike Collective offers an opportunity at checkout to “Plant a Tree” for a mere $4, enabling enthusiasts to amplify their impact even further. This thoughtful approach not only enhances the hiking experience but also fosters a community deeply committed to leaving a positive environmental legacy for generations to come.

We Are Eco Tourism Certified

The Hike Collective has achieved Eco Tourism Certification with Ecotourism Australia, a non-profit organisation which promotes sustainable travel around Australia. Its primary focus is to work with nature – based tourism operators, to promote and encourage environmentally sound practices.

We Make Minimal Impact

The Hike Collective believes that education is important for increasing awareness about where our environmental positioning is at the moment and the role ecotourism can play in achieving sustainability. We are committed to educating our guests on the threats and impacts to the environment in which we operate, and provide best practices to help mitigate the threats and impacts. Many of our guests are unaware of the changes occurring, and the value of sustainable practices. We help them learn how they can have a positive impact on nature, and we spark the conversation to help increase and improve sustainable tourism practices.

Minimal Impact Policy

The Hike Collective acknowledges the Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of this nation. We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the lands on which we hike. We pay our respects to ancestors and Elders, past and present. The Hike Collective is committed to honouring Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ unique cultural and spiritual relationships to the land, waters and seas and their rich contribution to society.
