    Puurrunha Tour Overview

Punurrunha , known to most as Mount Bruce, is Western Australia’s second highest peak. At 1,234 metres, it rises out of the Hamersley Range in a way that doesn’t ask permission. This is a summit experience, not a scenic stroll. And the only way to do it properly is to be on the mountain before the world wakes up.This experience is a 10km return hike lasting generally between 5 and 6 hours.

You’ll start in the dark. That’s deliberate.  The first kilometre eases you in through spinifex slopes with stars still overhead and the mountain a shadow against the sky. By the time the terrain demands your full attention with switchbacks, scrambles through rectangular boulders, the chain-assisted ledge, the near-vertical chute, the horizon will already be shifting. The mountain throws you a few false summits along the way. Each one earns a view.

When you get to the summit, you’ll know.

The summit plateau opens up to a panorama that stretches across the Pilbara in every direction. Hamersley Range to the horizon. Ancient red country below.

This is a private experience, built around your group. Departure is typically 4:00am, adjusted to put you at the ridge line (not the summit) at first light, based on the season and conditions on the day. The terrain is challenging, so expect steep ascents, technical scrambles, and a full morning on your feet.

Suitable for Fit adults with hiking experience. Not suitable for young children or those with significant mobility limitations.

Please note that this experience is only available between April and September.
