    Overview

For the first time, we’re sharing the method. Not just the experience, but the architecture behind it. So that you can go anywhere, and know exactly how to make it work.

We’ve been guiding people into wild places for ten years.  We’ve written the field notes, divulged the research, and studied the environmental psychology that explains what we were seeing. And we’ve spent a long time working out how to teach it. This day is that teaching.

Everything taught on this day is grounded in peer-reviewed research from environmental psychology, neuroscience, and immunology. We don’t teach nature as a feeling. We teach it as a mechanism,  because when you understand the mechanism, you can use it deliberately, anywhere, every week.

    WHAT THIS IS

It’s our method. Given to you. Not a curated experience you consume and go home from. The actual framework we use to design every experience we’ve ever run. The science behind it, the terrain logic behind it, the sequencing behind it. Yours to use, anywhere, for the rest of your life.

Not a wellness day. There are plenty of those. This is a full-day workshop with two hikes, a masterclass, a meditation session, a locally catered lunch, and a written nature prescription you design yourself. It is rigorous, and it requires your full attention.

A day that moves between forest and framework. The classroom is the forest. Every concept is demonstrated in the terrain where it lives. You won’t sit in a room and learn about nature, you’ll move through it while understanding, for the first time, exactly what it’s doing to you.

Six things you’ll leave with and use for life.

A set of tools that work anywhere including the park near your house, before a hard week, or on the rare occasion when you get somewhere extraordinary.

    01 The mechanism

You’ll understand why time in nature changes you – physiologically, cognitively, neurologically. As a documented process you can work with deliberately.

    02 The diagnostic

A framework for reading any place in nature for its restoration potential. Not all places restore equally. You’ll know what to look for, and what it means when you find it.

    03 The dose

The research-backed thresholds for how long, how often, and with what quality of attention.

    04 The terrain map

How to match the place to what you need from it. Different terrain does different things. You’ll know which terrain to choose, and why, before you set foot in it.

    05 The practice

A set of tools you can use anywhere, in 20 minutes or four hours, to make the experience actually land rather than pass through you.

    06 Your prescription

A specific, written, witnessed plan for your own nature practice.

    Who This Is For

Anyone who has felt the effect of time in wild places and doesn’t want to leave that feeling to chance, to holidays, or to the rare days when the conditions are perfect. You don’t need any prior experience or knowledge. You just need genuine curiosity about the mechanism.

This day is for people who have already been on a Hike Collective experience and felt what we do,  who came home wanting more of it, and more understanding of how to get there without us. It suits those who notice their time in nature is inconsistent and want to understand why, and those who want to become deliberate practitioners of the Wild State in their own lives.

This is not the right fit if you’re looking for a passive experience. This is a full day across hosted hikes, masterclass, and practice sessions.
